May 26, 2009Another case confirms Agent Orange on Guam
Another veteran who was stationed at Andersen Air Force Base from 1962 to 1965 won his claim for disability benefits based on medical findings which showed that his illness was the result of his exposure to Agent Orange. The Air Force veteran, who requested anonymity, has been suffering from diabetes mellitus type 2, which the Department of Veterans Affairs confirmed to be service-related. During the Vietnam war era, Guam was used as storage facility for agent orange, a kind of chemical herbicide used to thin jungles in Vietnam in 1968 and 1969. A CBS News report on June 12, 2005, said Agent Orange was sprayed on Guam from 1955 to 1960s, and in the Panama Canal Zone from 1960s to 1970s. The first confirmation of Agent Orange presence on Guam was found in U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans' ruling in 2005, which concluded that a veteran contracted a disease as a result of his exposure to Agent Orange while stationed on Guam in the late 1960s. comments add comment

MSgt Ed Jackson you seem to have wrong view of two things. I served on the proteus as-19 in Guam between jan 70 to july 71 and I to have type II. You attack so called liberals, of which I am one and immigrants who for the most part pay payroll taxes but never get a refund. I think that all of us should be compensated. But attacking other people will not help. The real bad guy here is the government that will not admit that they poisoned us.

My husband was at Apra Harbor in 1962, with out any family history , he also has developed almost all the diseases of Agent Orange exposure, we made a claim and were denied but I know I didnt do the claim properly I am now seeking more evidence to put with the claim. He swam in the waters , drank the waters , showered in the water that came aboard the ship.
ANYONE that can help support the claim that AO was in the area Apra Harbor of Guam would be greatly apprieciated you may email us at Lisa_Owens2002@yahoo.com

CDB, You sir, have no idea what you are talking about. It is liberals like you who have screwed this country by giving away free handouts to every deadbeat who has illegally crossed over our boarders.
These guys, including myself have been fighting the US Government for years, in some cases decades because we did what we were told while in service to this country. Many of them are no longer with us, but the fight, like any war goes on. It is these guys who give you the very right to question our integrity, to bad you, sir, don't know what that is or you, too would have some. So, do not abuse that right.
The USAF stopped spraying AO in Vietnam in 1970. The stockpile left over, millions of gallons in thousands of 55 gallon drums, did not begin being destroyed until 1979. It took until 1984 to completely destroy all of the AO. The AO was shipped to Johnston Island in 1978 to prepare for its destruction. Where do you think the US Government stored all of the AO between 1970, when it left Vietnam, and 1978 when it arrived on Johnston Island? Well, it wasn't Kansas. It was stored on Andersen AFB, Guam because the stockpile that supplied Ranch Hand was already there. I know, I was there, and carried it to and from the outside storage areas on trucks. It would arrive on chartered B-707F freighters, KC-135s, C-141s, and C-130s, or US Navy ships. Some of it left Guam the same way. Badly leaking drums were dumped on the Northwest Field portion of Andersen AFB. I know, because I did all those things.
Now go back into your hole in the ground and never call these HEROs felons again.

Amos recently died from Squamous Cell Cancer. The VA has given me the opportunity to strenghten my claim that he was exposed to Agent Orange in Guam, Nov 1965- March 1966. I would appreciate all suggestions of how to do this. Does anyone know of Medical/ scientific literature that shows Squamous is medically associated with dioxin. Thanks for any and all suggestions

Ever since I was stationed a AABF Guam, I have had symptoms that are getting worse. Boil type Acne, in every part of my body, elevated white cell count, Hives, Joint pain and numbness, chronic respiratory issues and health problems, chronic Fatigue, Problems with digestion and the list goes on. All of these health issues are unique to me and me alone in my family, there is NO family history of these same issues going on with any of my parents or siblings. I have to wonder if the chemicals I was exposed to while stationed at AAFB are the root cause . See since I was around 45, Arthritis and weakness has been coming on strong. My health has been declining in a alarming rate. Since Guam I have always had a elevated white count, Allergies and bought of Hives, that I never had before Guam, I experience daily sharp stinging and numbness in arms, hands and feet that seem to come and go. I have serious problems with boils that make me deathly ill and have to be lanced and drained and problems with weakness that some days wont even let me walk or hell I can't even do my own dishes. I never put it together until I was researching chemical solvents I use too bath (wash hair, face arms and hands) in daily while stationed at Anderson. These solvents would make my skin numb and tingle for days after using it. But it was the bast way to degrease and clean up after a hard day of working on the heavy equipment I was assigned to repair. I worked/repaired dozer's used at the dumps and sprayers that were used to kill foliage , I can remember being assigned to load the sprayers and drive down along the fuel pipe lines laid through the jungle to keep the pathways clear for the pipelines pumping jet fuel from the ports at the navy base to Anderson AFB. I never thought anything about it until just last week when I was told by the VA that My degenritive Joint disease was just old age. HELL at 50, I cant even feed myself. I have no Family history of any of these diseases. Just me, the only one in my family that suffers from all these issues. So guys, am I being nuts here or is there a connection between the Guam and my health issues. Your feed back, suggestions and help are GREATLY welcome. dek1957@yahoo.com

There already IS official government recognition that Agent Orange, and similar agents still in use, like Round-up and paraquat, DO cause the deterioration of the Lymph and Endocrine systems. The DEA admitted it in the late 70s by issuing a warning about paraquat sprayed marijuana. The guys from Nam who got it over with most quickly, they had the job of clearing the dead brush and burning it. Those were the data supplied by the DEA re: the pot. Those were the guys who died within a few years of exposure. With a Cause and Effect clearly established. With a huge resource of patients, men who could provide the key for a treatment for those still alive, there COULD be such a breakthrough. It's the chemical corporations like Monsanto who are ordering their Pentagoon Puppets to kill the research. And kill the victims. The General Staff want to whore for them, so be it. But they, not the soldiers, are the "felons". Not the ones their spokesman commented were "scamming the VA". Sergeant Lanning is Dead. Sergeant Brown, thanks to the "liberal hippies" who broke the story of D.U., the story the Army wanted buried... along with their Fellow Soldiers they wanted "covered up".... Sgt Brown is ALIVE. The Pentagon stooges wanted to cover up the story with LIES and smears like "felons scamming the VA." And to cover up their Fellow Soldiers, comrades-in-arms,... cover them up with dirt in National Cemeteries. Give the widows a nice flag, give the soldiers a nice burial... Mighty white of them. But some of their victims aren't dead yet, and the story is no longer in the hands of the Pentagon. I hope to God it's not too late.
Jonah Brown wrote on Dec 24, 2009:
My landlady is the widow of an Air Force Sergeant, killed by Agent Orange long after the war. He too, was stationed on Guam. The Air Farce (a great waste of life) didn't acknowledge until 5 years after he died that it was service connected, and VA still refuses to use the words "Agent Orange". Sgt Howard Lanning. His job was loading the canisters. Mrs Lanning washed his uniforms for him, they didn't even have HazMat suits.
They set a vicious precedent, now there's two added things, Depleted Uranium and Leishmaniasis Donovani.
My cousin, Sgt T.Hank Brown, contracted DU during Desert Storm. The Army denied it so long that before they started the treatment (a purgative series to get heavy metals out of the system) Hank, who is 6'5", weighed a hundred pounds. That's 2 meters tall and 45 kilograms for people in countries which use REAL measurements.
The Leishmaniasis is a single celled animal that invades the skin, then the blood and then the lymphatic systems of mammals and birds. It's also called the Baghdad Boil and it's injected into the victim through the bite of a fly. It's not, according to the Pentagoons and the VA... not in America. Once again, they lie. Mrs. Lanning contracted it two years ago. Apparently the Army, here in Colorado Springs, was receiving back from Iraq vehicles and other machinery without disenfecting it "in country" the way the British do. With sand and, the eggs of the sand fly... and live and dead sand flies. And the parasite. It, too is deadly.
The D.U. treatments only became possible once the Army admitted that it actually causes Gulf War Syndrome. There's a treatment for Baghdad Boil, just not available here stateside... yet. Part of it is that it was developed in South Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. There are a lot of U.S. doctors in the position to make such decisions who won't accept any advances made by Third World scientists.
And they won't admit that they screwed up again, just like Agent Orange, just like D.U....
The Corporate Lawyers for Monsanto laughed as they left the court, back in 1983, with a settlement that was less than a penny on the dollar for the costs to the victims of Agent Orange. And Much, much less than that tiny fraction relative to the profits they made from it.

My health has gotten so bad nothing else can happen but to die( kidney transplant, high blood presure, loss of hearing, bling in left eye, joint pain all over my body). V.A. has the guts to say it started after more than one yr. This exposure ,2,4,5,T starts Kilin you slowly after spraying. I'll bet when the DOD was told this they said that would be perfect. to get out of liability. This 2,4,5, T is know as man most deadly chemical.
